Round Lake, near Lake Boga, has been reopened for hunting.
A special Victorian Government Gazette released today included an amendment notice which formally removed Round Lake from the list of wetlands closed to hunting for the Victorian duck hunting season, due to the presence of Blue-billed Duck.
Effective from the day it is published, this means that hunters may head to Round Lake from today onwards.
While the Blue-bills have moved on, there are a number of Blue-winged Shovelers at Round Lake. Field & Game Australia would like to remind all hunters that this species of game bird cannot be hunted this year.
Field & Game Australia are glad to see the wetland reopened in such a timely manner.
